About BFHD



Battlefield: High Definition is a modification for Battlefield 1942. The goal of the mod is to bring as many visual enhancements to the game as possible.

Battlefield: High Definition was developed by Lieutenant Clone (Dennis Robinson).

The mod brings the following enhancements to Battlefield 1942:
  • Drastically increased view distances
  • Increased the rendering quality of the terrain
  • Increased the rendering distance of most vehicles
  • Most vehicles will stay on the map permanently when destroyed
  • Dead bodies remain for five minutes (you will rarely see them disappearing)
  • Added blood effects
  • Added third person view
  • Many more minor tweaks and enhancements

System Requirements

A computer that can run Battlefield 1942 on full quality, will not necessarily be able to handle Battlefield: High Definition. Our reccomendations are below:

Minimum:
  • 1.5 GHz CPU
  • 128 Megabytes of RAM
  • 3D accelerated 128 MB video card or equivalent with HW-T&L (Hardware Transform & Lighting) and 24-bit z-buffer
  • 60 MB free hard disk space plus space for saved games
  • 16X Speed CD-ROM/DVD-ROM
  • Directx 8.1 Compatible Sound Card

  • Recommended:
  • 2.4 GHz CPU
  • 256 Megabytes of RAM
  • Video Card with at least 256 Mb of RAM
  • 60 MB free hard disk space plus space for saved games
  • 16X Speed CD-ROM/DVD-ROM
  • Directx 8.1 Compatible Sound Card
